An inductor is a two-terminal electrical component that stores electric energy in the coil in a magnetic field when an electric current is passed through it. It usually consists of insulated wire around the coil. Its phenomenon is based on the Lenz law i.e. the direction of the induced e.m.f opposes the electric current passing through it.
